Privacy Policy

This explains what information this site collects, why, and the handful of services that touch it. Plain language, no surprises — I collect as little as I can and I don’t sell it.

Who this is

This site, chrismichaelharris.com, is run by Chris Michael Harris (“I,” “me,” “my”). It publishes free content — the podcast, videos, and written posts — and offers a weekly email called The Dispatch. Using the site means you’re okay with what’s described here.

What I collect

Only what you hand over or what a visit necessarily generates:

• Your email address — and your name, if you give it — when you subscribe to The Dispatch.
• What you send when you book a call — name, email, and anything you type into the scheduling form.
• Basic technical data every site sees: IP address, browser and device type, and which pages you viewed. This comes from the server logs of the host, not from tracking you around the web.

How I use it

To send you The Dispatch if you asked for it, to reply to you, to schedule and hold calls, and to keep the site working and secure. That’s the whole list. I don’t sell or rent your information, and I don’t share it except with the service providers below who help run the site.

The services that touch your data

A few trusted tools handle specific jobs. Each only gets what it needs, and each has its own privacy policy:

• Kit — stores your email address and sends The Dispatch.
• Calendly — handles call scheduling and the details you enter to book.
• Railway — hosts the site and keeps the standard server logs above.
• YouTube — videos are embedded from YouTube; playing one lets YouTube set its own cookies.
• Buzzsprout — hosts and serves the podcast audio; playing an episode lets Buzzsprout set its own cookies.
• Google Analytics (GA4) — measures how the site is used, in aggregate: pages viewed, rough location, device and browser. It’s about patterns, not people.
• Google Ads — a conversion tag that tells me, in aggregate, when an ad click led to something useful (like subscribing), so I’m not flying blind on advertising.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how it’s used — which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from, what device they’re on. That’s reported to me in aggregate: I use it to see patterns, not to identify you, and I don’t try to tie it back to your name. It also runs a Google Ads conversion tag so I can tell whether an ad led somewhere useful. Both set cookies in your browser, and both send data to Google, which processes it under its own policies.

Beyond those, the only cookies are functional ones and the ones the embedded players above (YouTube, Buzzsprout) set when you press play. You can block or clear any of them in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics specifically with Google’s opt-out browser add-on — the site still works either way.

Most browsers offer a Do Not Track setting. There’s no agreed standard for how sites must honor it, so — like most sites — this one doesn’t change behavior based on it; use the opt-out add-on or your browser’s cookie controls if you want to limit what’s collected.

Keeping it, and keeping it safe

I keep your information for as long as it’s useful for the reason you gave it — your Dispatch subscription lasts until you unsubscribe, for instance. I use reasonable, commercially standard measures to protect it, but no method of sending or storing data online is ever 100% secure, so I can’t promise absolute security.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from The Dispatch at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, and that stops the emails immediately. Want to know what I hold about you, or want it deleted? Just ask — see Contact below.

Visitors outside the United States

The site is operated from the United States, and the services above process data there. If you’re visiting from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and handled in the U.S. Using the site and giving me your information means you’re okay with that transfer.

Links to other sites

Some pages link out to sites I don’t control. Their privacy practices are their own — it’s worth reading the policy of any site you head to from here.

Children

This site is meant for adults and isn’t directed at anyone under 13. I don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given me information, contact me and I’ll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If the tools or practices change, I’ll update this page and move the “Last updated” date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
